Mies v. Sephora

Class Certification Denied

Plaintiff in this action alleges that Sephora misclassified those with the title Specialists and therefore did not pay those in this position for overtime worked.  Plaintiff also alleges that Sephora failed to provide timely off duty meal periods and failed to properly calculate regular rate of pay for overtime purposes.  Discovery is continuing in this matter.

On June 7, 2013, the Court denied Plaintiff's Motion for Class Certification. Plaintiff has appealed this order. The First District Court of Appeal agreed with the trial court and denied Plaintiff's appeal on February 2, 2015.

The parties subsequently reached a settlement of Plaintiff's remaining individual claims.
